how to drink?

a guide to enjoy wines in the best way!

white wine

Opening Time: Open right before serving to maintain freshness.

Decanting: Decanting is generally not needed for white wines but can help open up the aromas for richer whites like Chardonnay.

Serving Temperature: Serve chilled at 8-12°C (46-54°F) to bring out the crisp acidity and fruit flavors.

Storage After Opening: Best consumed within 2-3 days of opening. Store in the refrigerator with a wine stopper to maintain freshness.

rosé wine

Opening Time: Open right before serving to retain freshness and aromatic qualities.

Decanting: Not needed for rosé as it is typically lighter and more aromatic without the need for extensive aeration.

Serving Temperature: Serve well-chilled at 10-12°C (50-54°F) to bring out its fruity and floral notes.

Storage After Opening: Store in the refrigerator and finish within 2-3 days to retain freshness.

red wine

Opening Time: Open 30-60 minutes before serving to allow the wine to breathe.

Decanting: Decant red wine to separate any sediment and aerate it, which helps soften the tannins and release complex aromas.

Serving Temperature: Serve at 16-18°C (60-65°F) for the best flavor balance.

Storage After Opening: Store in a cool, dark place and finish within 3-5 days after opening to preserve the wine’s integrity.

preserve wines

Reserves or Aging Wines

Opening Time: Open 1-2 hours in advance, particularly for red reserve wines, to allow the wine to fully express its aged complexity.

Decanting: Always decant older reserve wines to separate any sediment and help aerate the wine. This brings out the deep, layered flavors that develop during aging.

Serving Temperature: For reds, serve at 18-20°C (64-68°F). For white reserves, serve slightly chilled at 12-14°C (54-57°F).

Storage After Opening: Best consumed within 3-5 days, as aging wines can lose their subtle flavors quickly after opening.

light wine

Lighter Reds, Sparkling

Opening Time: Open right before serving.

Decanting: Generally unnecessary for light wines, as they tend to be more delicate and don’t benefit from extended air exposure.

Serving Temperature: Serve at 12-14°C (54-57°F) for lighter reds and sparkling wines to enhance their refreshing qualities.

Storage After Opening: Best consumed within 1-2 days for sparkling wine and 2-3 days for lighter reds.
